Treatments for hemorrhoid

Once you have been diagnosed or suspect to have hemorrhoid, it is primordial that you take the appropriate actions to treat the matter. Sitting silently waiting for your hemorrhoid to go away is not the solution it might instead worsen your condition.

Most hemorrhoids resolve spontaneously, although simple measures are sometimes needed. Mild symptoms can be alleviated easily by increasing the intake of fiber and fluids in the diet or stool softeners and lubricants may be needed to treat hard stools or constipation. There are also over the counter and or prescription creams and suppositories available to relieve the mild symptoms of hemorrhoids such as itching.

However, hemorrhoids (usually the internal ones) that do not resolve on their own or bleed repeatedly need more advance treatments. These methods include:

Rubber bands – Special rubber bands are placed around the base of the hemorrhoid to cut off blood circulation and causing the hemorrhoid to shrink.

Injection sclerotherapy – A chemical solution is injected into the blood vessel of the hemorrhoid to make it shrink.

Infrared coagulation – Heat is used to shrink the hemorrhoid tissue.

Hemorrhoidectomy – Surgery for removal of the dilated, stretched veins are sometimes needed as a last resort. It is done to either large extended or internal hemorrhoids that do not respond to other treatments.

Moreover, for those who want alternative treatments there are various homoeopathic remedies available to treat both internal and external hemorrhoids.

Living with hemorrhoids can be very painful, very itchy and annoying, so it is important to seek the appropriate treatment and get rid of any hemorrhoids as fast as possible. Every problem has a solution.
Points to remember,

• Hemorrhoids are natural; they are cushions of tissue that swell gently to facilitate the process of elimination. They are noticeable only when they begin to swell too much.
• Hemorrhoids are very common and more than half of the population will develop hemorrhoids, usually after the age 30.
• The majority person suffers in silence for a long period before seeking medical advice.

  1. Thank you for posting this article. It is truly informative. The number of hemorrhoid cases showing up in the world today seems to be escalating. Their is a high potential that the cause is attributed to poor diet. If we all increased our intake of dietary fiber, we would ensure that our bowel movement are regulated and as a result this would alleviate the stress on our rectum.

Having hemorrhoid is an unpleasant experience to a lot of people. Most are apprehensive to inform their doctor about it during physical exams. Their confidence get lower too. Thank you for sharing an awesome article. I'd love to share this to those I know who have them and let them know what they can do about their condition.

One thing that is not only good for hemorrhoids but for overall health is to eat lots of fruit. Fruit is low calorie, low fat and full of fiber to soften your stools.
