Hemorrhoids Relief – Stop the pain caused by Hemorrhoids

First, let me clear the confusion that people suffering from hemorrhoids usually believe. Hemorrhoids reliefs are not going to cure the hemorrhoid but they provide temporary amelioration from pain and other hemorrhoid symptoms. There are some people who are lucky enough to get rid of their hemorrhoids by simple reliefs, usually those suffering from an early stage. Those who suffer from advance stage of hemorrhoid with symptoms like severe pain or bleeding should use other measures available for them. Below is a list of some self-care measures which may alleviate the symptoms.

1. Consider to increase the intake of fiber in your diet, at least to adjust it as recommended (30 to 40 grams of fiber a day). This can be accomplish by eating more fresh fruit, oat bran, rolled oats, whole grains and other foods rich in fiber.
2. Use a hemorrhoid cream or insert suppository that contain hydrocortisone, or make the use of pads which contain witch hazel or topical numbing agent.
3. Instead of using dry toilet paper(which could tear the thin skin layer of the hemorrhoid) to wipe your anus after a bowel movement, use wet and moist towels or wet toilet paper that doesn’t contain perfume or alcohol.
4. Always keep the anal region clean and dry. When taking a shower or bath clean well your anus area with warm water (not necessary to soap this area as it may aggravate the condition) and then pat dry only to avoid irritation.
5. A Sitz bath fits over the toilet is a great way to soothe hemorrhoid pain and swelling. You can buy a one at most drugstores. Sitting in warm water allows more blood to reach the infected area which helps promoting healing. It is recommended to use this treatment several times a week for a duration of around 15-20 minutes each. You may also buy some Epsom salts to add in the warm water and sit there for 10 minutes.
6. Applying ice packs or cold compresses on the anal area help to reduce swelling. You may also insert a small piece of ice (one which is wet and slippery, not the sticky) in the anal hole just like a suppository.
7. Remember that staying on the toilet for more than five minutes at a time aggravates your hemorrhoids. It is important to exercise your body regularly, for ex: take several short walks daily. This will help for a good circulation of blood and oxygen in the body. A sedentary lifestyle can lead to other health problems.
8. A painful prolapsed internal hemorrhoid can be gently pushed back into the anal hole to alleviate pain quickly.
9. The use of hemorrhoid cushion is a big help in relieving temporarily some of the symptoms associated with hemorrhoids.
10. Avoid straining to have a bowel movement.

You can also have recourse to some medications which temporarily help to relive the discomfort of hemorrhoids. Below is a list of the medications you should know.

1. Local anesthetics temporarily relieve pain, burning, and itching by numbing the nerve endings. The use of these products should be limited to the perianal area and lower anal canal. Local anesthetics can cause allergic reactions with burning and itching. Therefore, if burning and itching increase with the application of anesthetics, they should be discontinued. If the hemorrhoids are really painful, a cream or lotion with tetracaine is a very good anesthetic.
2. Vasoconstrictors are chemicals that resemble epinephrine, a naturally occurring chemical. Applied to the anus, vasoconstrictors make the blood vessels become smaller, which may reduce swelling. They also may reduce pain and itching due to their mild anesthetic effect.
3. Protectants prevent irritation of the perianal area by forming a physical barrier on the skin that prevents contact of the irritated skin with aggravating liquid or stool from the rectum. This barrier reduces irritation, itching, pain, and burning. There are many products that are themselves protectants or that contain a protectant in addition to other medications.
4. Astringents cause coagulation of proteins in the cells of the perianal skin or the lining of the anal canal. This action promotes dryness of the skin, which in turn helps relieve burning, itching, and pain.
5. Antiseptics inhibit the growth of bacteria and other organisms. However, it is unclear whether antiseptics are any more effective than soap and water. Bepanthen is a hemorrhoid home remedy that contains an antiseptic. Proctosedyl is also a good suppository for hemorrhoids that contains an antiseptic.
6. Keratolytics are chemicals that cause the outer layers of skin or other tissues to disintegrate. The rationale for their use is that the disintegration allows medications that are applied to the anus and perianal area to penetrate into the deeper tissues.
7. Analgesic products, like anesthetic products, relieve pain, itching, and burning by depressing receptors on pain nerves.
8. Corticosteroids reduce inflammation and can relieve itching, but their chronic use can cause permanent damage to the skin. They should not be used for more than short periods of a few days to two weeks. Stronger corticosteroid products that are available by prescription should not be used for treating hemorrhoids.

Some good hemorrhoid reliefs on the market would be Venapro, Anusol, Zenmed Zero and Preparation H. You can also apply zinc oxide based creams - they will help with the relief of pain and discomfort.
Points to remember,

• Hemorrhoids are natural; they are cushions of tissue that swell gently to facilitate the process of elimination. They are noticeable only when they begin to swell too much.
• Hemorrhoids are very common and more than half of the population will develop hemorrhoids, usually after the age 30.
• The majority person suffers in silence for a long period before seeking medical advice.

@Bhealthy ;Yes obviously that jump from junk food to natural healthy food shall definitely make someone healthier. Junk food are rich in harmful substances such as fat, salt, and sugar. Preservatives are the major harmful ingredients in the junk food, which causes many complications in the human body. It includes heart diseases, cancer, diabetes, and obesity(which is among the major causes of hemorrhoid).
