Different Stages for prolapsed Hemorrhoids – also known as grading of internal hemorrhoids

When we talk about the stages of prolapsed hemorrhoids, we usually refer to the degree of prolapsation of the hemorrhoid from its formation (the first stage/grade) to the last stage. Prolapsed hemorrhoids are internal hemorrhoids that are so distended that they are pushed outside the anal hole. Prolapsed hemorrhoids occur when the internal hemorrhoids are left untreated. There are basically four different stages for prolapsed hemorrhoids.

First stage (Grade I) – When the hemorrhoids do not prolapsed.
Second stage (Grade II) – When the hemorrhoids prolapsed upon a bowel movement and are reduced spontaneously.
Third stage (Grade III) – When the hemorrhoids prolapsed upon a bowel movement but must be manually reduced.
Fourth stage (Grade IV) – When the hemorrhoids are prolapsed and cannot be manually reduced.

Generally, prolapsed hemorrhoids that are in stage one and two can be treated by many non-operative procedures otherwise if left untreated then prolapsed hemorrhoids that have reached stage three or four will have to endure surgical procedures available. It is best to treat your hemorrhoids as soon as possible in its early stages to avoid surgery.
Points to remember,

• Hemorrhoids are natural; they are cushions of tissue that swell gently to facilitate the process of elimination. They are noticeable only when they begin to swell too much.
• Hemorrhoids are very common and more than half of the population will develop hemorrhoids, usually after the age 30.
• The majority person suffers in silence for a long period before seeking medical advice.

Hemorrhoids causes anal itching, anal ache and pain. Painless bleeding and protrusion is common in Hemorrhoids.

  1. This is great information. I didn't realize that there were four separate stages to hemorrhoids, with the first two still be treatable without surgery. Great explanation and illustrations.

  1. I think patient who has hemorrhoid at the early stage should seek doctors advise as fast as they could so that it will stop from spreading or cure it. People whose under this condition should not be ashamed on having it since scientist already do a research and find drugs that will stop the prolapsed.

Well done on this post. Glad that you have shared some info with regards to different stages of prolapsed hemorrhoids. Be back for more tips.

  1. The most common sign of hemorrhoids is bright red bleeding and the lack of abdominal pain. The bright red blood means that it's 'fresh' and didn't have a chance to pass through your intestinal tract -- it occurred right at the exit of the anus as in the pictures.

If you experience dark red blood or abdominal pain with blood this could be a sign of a more serious condition.
